Our History

Greenwood Inn, 1350 Jefferson Boulevard

The next time you are dining at the Greenwood Inn Restaurant, you might ponder the fact that this was once a stagecoach stop and has been providing travelers & locals a place to stop for a bit of rest and refreshment for nearly 300 years.

Today, the Greenwood Inn Restaurant is one of the best known restaurants in Warwick. A true “local favorite”.

The Papa tradition started with Henry and Norma in 1954 and is still carried on by the Papa family today. The steady success of the Greenwood Inn came in large part through hard work and a strong sense of family pride and devotion that has passed through three generations of the Papa family. Today, grandsons & owners Keith and John Papa share the duties and responsibilities along with sisters Wendy & Sue. They are justly proud of their restaurant and the family tradition behind it.
